It is a Japanese garden located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan.
It has been designated as a national historic site and scenic spot (designated name is “Tokiwa Park”).
Kairakuen Park, which includes the area around the adjacent Senba Lake, is traditionally counted as one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan along with Korakuen (Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture) and Kenrokuen Garden (Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture).
